Privacy Policy

The Insulin Fix Scanner (the "app") is operated by Wellingtonia Publishing LLC, 1309 Coffeen Avenue STE 1200, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States. For privacy questions, contact karl@fixyourinsulin.com. This policy explains what we collect when you use the app and how we handle it.

What we collect

• Account data: your email address, used to sign you in.
• Meal photos: the images you upload to be scored.
• Scan results and notes: your Insulin Fix Scores, the analysis returned, and any notes or optional health information (such as weight entries) you choose to add.
• Subscription data: your plan and billing status. Card details are handled by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.
• Usage data: how the app is used: pages visited, buttons tapped, scans started and completed, and the device and browser. When you are signed in this is linked to your account. Product analytics may also record your session on our pages (see PostHog below).

How we use it

We use your data to provide the Insulin Fix Score, store your scan history and diary, process your subscription, and improve the service. We do not sell your personal data.

Service providers

We rely on the following processors to run the app:

• Anthropic: your uploaded meal photo is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the score. Anthropic does not use API data to train its models.
• Supabase: authentication, database, and secure storage of your photos and scans.
• Stripe: subscription billing and payment processing.
• Vercel: application hosting.
• Kit and Google Analytics: email communications and aggregate, anonymous analytics, where applicable.
• PostHog: product analytics, including session replay: a recording of how you move through our pages (clicks, scrolling and page changes), used to find and fix problems. Events are linked to your account when you are signed in.
• Meta (Facebook and Instagram): the Meta pixel in your browser and Meta's Conversions API from our servers report visits and actions such as completing a scan, starting checkout or subscribing, so we can measure and improve our ads. These reports can include hashed identifiers such as your email address and Meta's cookie identifiers.
• OpenAI Ads (ads in ChatGPT): the OpenAI Ads pixel in your browser reports page views, and OpenAI's Conversions API from our servers reports actions such as signing up, completing a scan, starting checkout or subscribing, so we can measure our ads. Server reports can include a hashed email address and a hashed account identifier.
• Cloudflare Turnstile: a human check on sign-up, sign-in and the free scan without an account, to block automated abuse. Cloudflare receives information about your browser, and for the free scan we send it your IP address when we verify the check.
• Resend: delivers emails we send from our servers, such as our reply when you send us feedback. It receives your email address and the message.

Health-related information

Some information you add (notes, weight, or glucose readings) may relate to your health. We treat it as sensitive and use it to provide features you have chosen and, where you agree, for the uses described here. The Insulin Fix Score is an educational estimate and is not medical advice.

Reader questions

If you choose to save your answers, we store your choices with your email profile in Kit to personalise our emails, and anything you type separately in our own database, without your email address. Our team reviews both for internal research. We keep them up to 24 months, then delete them. We don't use them in ads or share them with advertisers. See our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from emails at any time. Residents of the EEA, UK, and similar regions have rights to access, correct, delete, and port their data. To exercise any of these, or to request deletion of your account and data, email karl@fixyourinsulin.com.

Retention and security

We keep your data while your account is active and delete it on request. We use industry-standard safeguards, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

Children

The app is intended for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18.

Changes

We may update this policy and will post changes here with a new effective date.
